What is Thai Massage?

Thai massage is a traditional type of massage that originated in Thailand. It involves massaging the recipient’s body weight on the floor, often using more than one person’s body weight at a time. The purpose of massage is to develop strength and power through body reflexes. The therapist applies pressure with the hands, feet, elbows, and knees. They will also apply different strokes and movements to exercise the recipient’s muscles. Thai massage is usually more vigorous than other types of massage and can be quite strenuous. The intensity of the massage is thought to help improve flexibility, circulation, and range of motion. A Thai massage is a deeply relaxing massage that can help release tension and stiffness. Increases agility and calms the mind, resulting in feelings of well-being and harmony.

How does Thai Massage work?

Cocoon Thai massage is a form of therapy that differs from traditional massage in many ways. Other massages and deep-tissue massages are performed on the massage table, while Thai massages are performed on floor mats. This provides the client with a greater range of motion. Unlike Western massage, Thai massage isn’t just about the back or abdomen. This yogic stretching massage improves flexibility and relieves body, back and shoulder pain. During a Thai massage, a therapist can guide you through a series of yoga-like stretches, using not only your hands, fists, forearms, and elbows, but also your knees, legs, and feet. The treatment also uses muscle compression, joint mobilization and acupressure, which makes the treatment described as both relaxing and energizing. For the deeper stretching result, following the instructions of the therapist and try to stay relaxed the whole time.
